30 Jun 19 Saint Cloud Won 11/4
Grand Prix de Saint Cloud
5 Coronet 5 8-13 J Gosden L Dettori
“Has had something of a chequered past producing brilliant effort one day and lack lustre another but they think they have her in top form at the moment and ready to win her first Group 1. Plenty of stiff opposition including her own yard's Lah Ti Dah who will be suited of the ground dries right up but this filly is fancied and expected to land a big pot here. ”

1 Headman 3 9-0 R Charlton J Watson
“The winner of the ultra competitive London Gold Cup handicap at Newbury on Lockinge day and a horse we heard about through the Winter. He takes a huge step up in class here but is thought to be up to it by connections. has the French horse, Flop Shot to beat but is quietly fancied to do so.”

1855 Edward Bryan Jones Memorial EBF Breeders' Series Fillies' Handicap
1 Ocala A M Balding Rob Hornby
“Another from the Andrew Balding yard and this one is fancied to overcome the might of the Varian and Stoute stables. That doesn't mean they're no good, indeed, both still have a degree of potential to fulfill but it does mean that the vibes from the Balding camp are such that they will be disappointed if she is beaten here. Trip track and ground all in her favour and fancied to land this.”

5 Swift Approval (IRE) 7 9-12 S C Williams Jason Watson
“From Stuart Williams' excellent yard and he has a bright chance here with this one which is now very nicely handicapped. They have to give a lot of weight away to the 3yos but the feeling in the yard is that they're well enouigh in to do so. Well Fancied ew here ”

8 Ever Rock (IRE) 3 8-13 J S Moore Laura Coughlan
“From Stan Moore's yard and they do well here for a smaller yard. Indeed, this one is fancied especially with the advantage of the 7lb claimer, Laura Coughlan aboard and although there is little doubt that Tom Clover's Celsius is a danger, this one represents excellent value at around 9/1, generally.”

2 Dazzling Des (IRE) 2 9-4 D O'Meara D Tudhope
“David O'Meara's yard have had a brilliant year thus far and although this isn't one of their brighter lights, he is still expected to get the better of these. He has Execlusive who won first time out for us in the field but is fancied to overcome that one here and is fancied to land this.”

22 Jun 19 Ascot Won 11/4
1540 Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2)
2 Defoe (IRE) 5 9-1 R Varian Andrea Atzeni
“Didnt quite live up to expectations last term for this yard having won plenty for us the year before. This year, though he has shwon significant imporvement and although this is a tough contest, almost as tough as they get, he comes here in a terrific shape after his awesome success at Epsom. He wouldnt want the ground to dry up too much on the round course but latest reports indicate that still has plenty of juice in it and although we're massively respectful of the Derby winner of 2018, Masar, the yard are confident of a massive run here and expecting to win. Mirage Dancer from a yard that can do nowt wrong here is the other contender but for our money, if this fella beats Masar, then he'll win this. The yard are very keen after excellent work. 1pt win (10/3 B365).”
Won 11/4

22 Jun 19 Ascot Won 6/4F
1620 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Group 1)
1 Blue Point (IRE) 5 9-3 C Appleby James Doyle
“The Godolphin team at Appleby's could have a field day here today if things fall their way but while we are already on one of them, the others have a big challenge but this fella is good enough to beat one of the best five furlong horses we have seen for a long time in Battassh and we know he gets six anyhow. On that basis although respectful of City Point, we expect to see this fella do the job here.”
Won 6/4F

22 Jun 19 Ascot Won 7/2F
1700 Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap)
3 Cape Byron 5 9-9 R Varian Andrea Atzeni
“Won the Victoria Cup here albeit on different ground and although this step back in trip on faster ground is not the ideal scenario, the viebs from the camp are positive. We stil have three or four horses to discuss with connections but now havign done so we know that Bacchus, Danzeno and, in particular, Gifted Master are the ones ot beat but we are confisdent this fella is ticking all the righ boxes with some excellent work with the like of Flavius Titus and others that susggests he will be putting up a mammoth show here. Well fancied EW at 6's (BOG) and 7 places with Skybet. 1.5pt EW”

5 Cleonte (IRE) 6 9-2 A M Balding S De Sousa
“From the excellent Andrew Balding yard who have done us so many favours over the past few years and, indeed, provided our first winner of the week. This fella was on our minds last year but wasn't strong enough at the death to do the job. he has strengthened up this year and a repeat of his good run behind Dee ex Bee here a couple of runs back will be good enough to win this. Well fancied by the yard and expected to land this.”

21 Jun 19 Ascot Won 4/1F
1430 Albany Stakes (Fillies' Group 3)
6 Daahyeh 2 9-0 R Varian David Egan
“This is the race that has held us up today as this filly has long been the plan for this race after she won for us at Newmarket. She beat the Queen Mary winner, Raffle Prize that day and did the job well on debut. She is drawn in the middle here and that might not be the best place but the reason for the hold up was the strong late message for the Crisford horse with Dettori aboard. This is fancied but on balance, we prefer the claims of this filly from a yard that have done us proud this term so far. Well fancied to land good EW bets here at 9/2 (four places) with B365. 1.5pt EW”

1505 King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2)
5 Japan 3 9-0 A P O'Brien R L Moore
“Plenty of improving horses in this field and there is a persistent rumour in Newmarket that Pondus will improve for the ground but there is no getting away from the strength of this yard in this division. First three home yestreday in the mile and a half handicap for 3yos and six of the first seven home in the Derby tells you all you need to know. Expected to win this here.”

1540 Commonwealth Cup (Group 1)
1 Advertise 3 9-3 M Meade L Dettori
“From the back to form Martyn Meade campand they were so badly out of form when this fella ran in the Guineas. He showed absolutely nothing that day but it is easy to frget he got so close to the horse of Gosdens that would have been a short priced favourite for this when he ran here last term, albeit on vastly different ground. However, they are of the opinion he will get away wioth this ground today and they are expectign a massive run. huge respect for the two hamdan horses but this fella makes great sense EW here. Quietly fancied. 0.5pt EW 7s with B365.”

“Most interesting event this term and the John Gosden yard saddles four in this. Taking on the third in the Oaks, Fleeting but, don't forget, they won the Oaks so know what is required. This one and Sparkle Roll their best pair but this filly loves this ground and is expected to get every yard of the trip. Will be a nice price here (7/1 now) and is quietly fancied to upset the favourite and land good ew bets for us here.”

“Little doubt that the O'Brien horses hold the key to this and although on the face of it, Norway has the beating of this fella on Chester running. The Balding team are confident their horse is in a better place now and is expected to reverse the form over this trip and on this ground. Quietly fancied EW here at around 8's.”

“On the face of it a trappy little sprint with some decent sorts in here. That said, despite that, this one of Ed Walker's is well fancied again and expected to beat them off. Healthy respect due to Equitation and Gulliver but Diamond Dougal may well be the main threat. However, this 4yo still in excellent shape and well fancied to land this @4/1 with PP. ”

5 Cambric R Charlton Jason Watson
“From the Roger Charlton camp that have been knocking in the odd one without there being an avalanche of winners but there is little doubt their horses are in good nick. This fella is by Australia who is making a name for himself with horses who need a little juice in the ground and the vibes indicate that is exactly what this fella wants. He gets it here and is fancied to beat the top one of Michael Bell's, Robert Fitzroy. Fancied,”

2 New King 3 9-6 J H M Gosden Oisin Murphy
“A cracking event and perhaps the best handicap on the card today by some way with plenty of these have pretensions to higher grades. Notably, Mubariz runs here rather than the Brittania next week but he is well thought of and won't be far away and surely Pour Me a Drink who spoiled Ouzo's hat-trick first time up at Haydock will be better on this slower ground. Both of these will go close but this fella comes from a yard with an abundance of talent and he has his ground for the first time today. He is by Frankel and this trip expected to be ideal. Working well and fancied to win this excellent event. Fancied at 9/4 generally. 1pt win.”

12 Music Seeker (IRE) 5 9-0 D Carroll C J MacRedmond
“Typically trappy York handicap and although we have a huge respect for some of the bigger names, it's that yard that took on the big boys the other day and beat them for us that we're rowing in with again here. Declan Carroll doesn't tilt at windmills and although they won't all win, this is another expected to give a huge account of hmself. At 20/1 generally, he is fancied to be in the money here and may well do the job as the yard did the other day. Cracking EW proposition here at 20/1.”

“From the Ed Dunlop yard and they have their horses in excellent shape at the moment. They have booked Gerard Mosse who does extremely well for the yard and theyre confident this fella will handle the prevailing soft ground. They have Stormomber of Ed Walker's to beat here but the viebs are good and theyre expecting the excellent work he has doe at home of late will be good enough to land good ew bets at the very least. At 8/1 with Ladbrokes, he is a cracking EW proposition here. 0.5pt EW 8's at Lads.”

“Interesting news on this one of Kevin Ryan's which has travelled all the way down from Yorkshire to take advantage of the soft ground and is expected to do the job here. That said he is nicely priced at 9/1 with Lads and BV and on that basis is a cracking EW proposition despite stiff competition from the like of Private Matter and Tawny Port. This fella though is in terrific form will enjoy the ground and is expected to land good ew support here. ”

“Declan Carrol does well when taking on the big boys and he is certainly doing that here with winningmost trainer, ever, Mark Johnston and Sir Michael Stoute in opposition. He takes on a third great as the Stoute horse is owned by the recently retired Luca Cumani so it will be some scalp if he can pull it off. However, with ground conditions certain to suit, he is fancying their chances here today and expecting a massive run.”

“From the Roger Charlton yard and he ran inexplicably poorly last time out but the Charlton camp are confident he will return to his best today. If he does, then he can win this and with ground conditions considered perfect for hiim in France, at present, providing they dont dry up miraculously, he is definitely the one to be with here at a very nice price. “From the in form Andrew Balding yard and this fella, lightly raced, comes here well recommended. He is a course winner and we saw yesyetday how valuable that can be and although that was over a furlong shorter than this the yard are confident he will get the trip well. He has a couple of Mark Johnstons to beat here and Haggas may well get in the shake up too but this fella is on the upgrade, is nicely weighted and is wellf ancied to land this though at 11/2 with Unibet, he is an excellent EW proposition here.”

Indeed, the race was targetted immediately he won here in August last year and they have got him here in terrific form and nicely handicapped. That said its a slight step up in grade for him but, nevertheless, while respectful of Rip Orff and another local horse, Hateya, this fella is expected to do the job here. That said it wouldn't have been ideal ground for her there and she ran well enough. However, this filly missed that race and has always been targetted at this and is fancied to do the job here. The top weight came on for his win here last year and if he has improved again and we're not sure he has, then he may well win again but in the light of news from the Stoute camp this fella is expected to win this today so long as it doesn't get too firm. He faces any number of decent sprinters and the main threat expected to come from the filly Shades of Blue wo was given a rather odd ride at Ascot when narowly beaten by Signora Caballo and is reported back to her best. “Good messages about this well handicapped 3yo of Ian Williams' and it was good to see him back in the winners enclosure again this week. This one has the top weight, Prince of Harts to beat but is fancied to do so and they will be disappointed if they dont win this.”
Won 5/1

10 May 19 Chester Won 13/2
1500 Boodles Diamond Handicap
2 Aquarium M Johnston F Norton
“We told you this was the danger to the well handicapped Mountain Angel of Roger Varian's at Epsom a few weeks back and he ran a blinder, without handling undulating the track, to finish second. Although disappointing next time he is back on slower ground here and although there are one or two others that have attracted our attention such as Sputnik Planum and Frankuus, this fella is the one to be with here and is excellent EW value at around 10/1 (B 365, Skybet)”
Won 13/2

09 May 19 Chester Won 7/2F
1500 Deepbridge Capital Handicap
7 Lincoln Park 3 9-1 M Appleby S De Sousa
“Trappy looking 7f handicap and although there are plenty with chances this fella is very much expected to find everything in his favour here. Lolas Theme would be a live threat from the Dascombe camp but this one is expected to win this and the yard will be disappointed if they dont. Fancied. 0.5pt win. Currently 5/1 generally.”
Won 7/2F

08 May 19 Chester Won 7/2
1350 Stellar Group Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes (Plus 10)
10 Great Dame (IRE) D O'Meara D Tudhope
“David O'Meara's 2yo is the subject of glowing reports from the yard and she will enjoy this change in going here being out of a Diktat mare. She obviously has the Brocklesby winner to beat but with a better draw and in receipt of 8lb, she is expected to get the meeting off to a flyer here. Fancied to do the job and expected to win.”
Won 7/2

08 May 19 Chester Won 11/2
1605 SportPesa Maiden Stakes (Plus 10)
4 Future Investment 3 9-5 R M Beckett Harry Bentley
“Interesting maiden before the rain and even more interesting now we know that you'll need a soft ground performer to win it. As a result, earlier messages about the Godolphin horse have been shelved and this one of Ralph Beckett's gets the nod after showing pronise first time up at Windsor. John Gosden's Damon Runyan will like the ground but will need to show significant imporvement while Andrew Balding's has the pedigree to win this and won't mind the ground either. However, on balance, this is the one we'll be with here. Fancied.”
Won 11/2

02 May 19 Salisbury Won 7/2
1905 William Hill Handicap
2 Hyanna 4 9-11 Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop
“This looks a match between the top two here and although we have a huge respect for the Portman charge, this one is progressive and is the subject fo good reports from the Eve Johnson Houghton camp. Fancied.”
Won 7/2

30 Apr 19 Brighton Won 9/4
1425 Jim Long Birthday Celebration/ EBF Novice Auction Stakes
5 Brazen Safa 2 8-10 M L W Bell Hayley Turner
“A decent looking 2yo from the Michael Bell yard and one that has come on nicely since debut. They're expecting a big run today although one has to be respectful of the Hannon horse Audio who is also fancied. Good race and this one gets the nod today, just!”
Won 9/4

30 Apr 19 Punchestown (IRE) Won 13/8
1840 Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase (Grade 1)
3 Delta Work (FR) Gordon Elliott D N Russell
“Ran a blinder at Cheltenham for us after we had a very good message and although only third that day, time may well tell that he was taking on something a bit special in the winner who, although beaten at Aintree found that race coming too soon after. This fella though will relish the return to a better surface and although its only marginally better, the rain is dying out and the race is late in the day so the track expected to be yielding at worst. Well fancied to beat A Plus Tard who was impressive in a handicap at the Festival but has much more on his plate now. Fancied.”
Won 13/8

28 Apr 19 Wetherby Won 12/1
1445 Smurfit Kappa inspirepac Novice Stakes (Div 2)
9 Trinity Lake 3 9-1 D Carroll D Nolan
“Some much bigger yards to overcome here but the vibes from the Declan Carroll yard indcate they're expecting a huge run from this unraced gelding. Quietly fancied EW at around 16/1 (B365)”
Won 12/1

27 Apr 19 Sandown Won 9/2F
1350 bet365 Novices' Championship Final Handicap Hurdle
1 Getaway Trump (IRE) 6 11-12 P F Nicholls H Cobden
“Was ultra impressive at Ayr and although that was on a totaly different track with different characteristics, this fella has a touch of class and despite top weight is still expected to do the job here. He has the horses immediately beneath him to beat, notably Harambe and Lord Yeats but this fella is well fancied and expected to land this.”
Won 9/2F

27 Apr 19 Leicester Won 9/4F
1445 EBF Stallions King Richard III Stakes (Listed)
4 Hey Gaman 4 9-2 J Tate L Dettori
“From the in form Tom Tate yard and expected to get the better of the Stoute horse here. It will be close but they're keen on him and expecting a massive run today with Dettori aboard. Well fancied.”
Won 9/4F

Back from Sodden Paris...

Sodding Paris is what we heard most people saying on the way back from the Arc meeting. Most of them done their dough on Enable and Battaash and although we felt both may be able to oblige, of course our golden rule of never backing odds on shots, saved us a whole heap of cash today. The said, the filly ran a stormer and a combination of being very close to the fast pace allied to the sodden ground, just saw her off and a horse she had beaten the last three times they had met, came through late to beat her. So, history wasnt made and although disappointed for the horse and the staff, we're gutted for an old friend in Frankie who had built this up to be the pinnacle of his career and the weather just put paid to it.

Elsewhere on the card, the French 2yo Ecrivain simply wasn tup to it but our firends in France who has served us so well all year were due to get one wrong and they didn indeed, do that there while the advice to back Safe Voyage each way with FOUR PLACES, at 7/1, just about saved a washout. Still, a great meeting just a pity about Enable...and of course Japan finishing fourth but thos eo fyou thaty backed him with Skybet would have been paid out as they paid on first four!!

Theres alwasy next year...but before that, terrific news in for this week and almost certainly our FIRST NH BET this Autumn!! More...
